Groundhogs in the Burrow | Pisgah National Forest | North Carolina

I photographed these two Groundhogs, an adult with its young pup, in their entrance of the burrow in the Pisgah National Forest in Western North Carolina.  Young groundhogs are weaned and ready to seek their own dens at five to six weeks of age.

Using a remotely setup camera and fired with wireless transmitter. The camera was setup on a tripod less than 6 inches off the ground giving a groundhog level view of the den.

Thank you for time & interest in my work and please visit the website www.naturewurks.com for additional images.
