My Favorite Images / “Eye to Eye” Bison Calf

This Bison calf was in a herd I photographed early one morning in very cold temperatures in Yellowstone National Park. It would follow and keet very close to its mother, but its curiosity for me was very powerful and it would peek around a saga brush checking on my position. I was able to photograph this herd for about 30 minutes before sunrise and the warming sunlight dried their frost covered coats.
