My Favorite Images / Egret in Flight

I was able to photograph this Egret in flight as it took-off from the canal’s bank it had been hunting at Lake Mattamuskeet Wildlife Refuge in eastern North Carolina. It has a large  wing span that launches its body in the air with one powerful motion.  It uses its long thin legs as it wades into the water to stir-up its prey and with its long neck and pointy bill spears the fish.
