I took this photograph in the winter on our approach to the 14,000+ ft Longs Peak in Colorado. The Diamond is the sheer and prominent east face of Longs Peak and named for the shape of the cliff. The face has a vertical gain of more than 900 feet all above an elevation of 13,000 feet. It is a world famous big wall. The temperature dropped several nights to -20 and wind gusts of over 30 mph.
