My Favorite Images / Flaming Azalea Flowers with Bumble Bees

In the mountains of eastern Tennessee in early June the top of Roan Mountain’s alpine meadows come alive with flaming colors. The Flaming Azalea bushes are brightly displayed in vibrant yellow and orange flowers. The bees by the thousands are everywhere busily collecting the flower’s sweet necter and pollen clings to their small bodies to be taken to the next flower for pollination. The beautiful alpine meadow grasses are blowing gently as warm summer breezes roll over the mountain tops. The local area has the Rhododendron festival the same time of year due to the beautiful pink flowering mountain bushes that are in abundance on the roadside.
