Pelican Chicks | Outer Banks Barrier Island Rookery | North Carolina

I visited this Pelican’s rookery on the small barrier islands just off the coast of North Carolina. These island rookeries are protected by the North Carolina Wildlife Commission, access is very restricted for the nesting bird’s protection.  I was escorted by a North Carolina Wildlife Commission officer on a weekly check of the rookery. I posted several images of Pelican chicks images as well as several adult Pelican images. You can see in the beak of one of the adult Pelicans, a small fish being fed to the chick.
