Juvenile Bald Eagle – Alligator River NWR

Juvenile bald eagle on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina. Winter time is some of the best times to visit the wildlife refuge along the coast. The crowds are down but more importantly the insects that are normally in large numbers in these swampy areas are gone. This juvenile bald eagle will take 4-6 yrs to change feather coloring including the white head.

Thank you for time & interest in my work as always all your comments are welcomed and very much appreciated!
