Turtle – Great Dismal Swamp

The Great Dismal Swamp is a large swamp on the border of Virginia and North Carolina. The Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge has plenty of turtles sunning along the banks and on logs at the water’s edge. I like the reflection of this turtle which was almost clear in the rushing water. Patience is needed to get close to the turtles even with a long lens do to there constant guard with any sudden movements resulting in a quick disappearing into the water.
