This colorful male Mallard Duck was in the Gum Swamp Wetlands in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The low light and the still water create a mirror like reflection that is wonderful for nature photography. Mallard ducks are the most common and recognizable wild ducks in the Northern Hemisphere. They can be found near ponds, swamps, wetlands, streams, and lakes.
