The fly agaric is a beautiful, vibrantly colorful fungi popping up everywhere with the recent wet weather in the mountains of western North Carolina. This fungus is dangerously poisonous and should NEVER be tasted. The name fly agaric derives from the fact that since medieval times it was commonly used as a fly killer.
